Men's Blue Leather Jacket

Who ends up buying a blue one

Almost nobody starts here, and that's fine. A first leather jacket is usually one of our men's black leather jackets or men's cognac leather jackets, because those go with what you already own and you can wear them four days a week without anyone noticing. Blue is the second or third jacket. It does something the neutrals can't, which is register as a choice rather than a default.

It's also easier to wear than people assume. Blue leather sits close to the colour family most men already dress in, so it slots into a wardrobe of grey, white, tan and olive without a fight. The mistake is treating it like a statement piece and saving it for occasions. It works better worn plainly.

Three blues, and they wear differently

Sky blue is the lightest and the boldest. In sunlight it reads properly bright, and it's the one that gets remarked on. Best kept to a simple shape and worn against white, cream or stone rather than anything busy.

Blue wax is deeper and slightly uneven from the start. The finish sits unevenly across the panels on purpose, and it lifts further at the elbows and cuffs with wear, so it looks older every year in a good way. This is the easiest blue to own if you're unsure.

Washed blue is the closest to denim, faded and softened before it reaches you. On the trucker cut it reads almost like a jean jacket until you get close and the leather gives it away.

What not to wear it with

Blue leather over blue jeans is the one trap. Two different blues in the same outfit rarely land, and matching them exactly is worse. Go black, grey, white or raw indigo on the bottom half instead, and the jacket does what you bought it for. Washed blue is the most forgiving here, black denim the safest pairing overall.

The shapes it comes in

Most of the blue range is cafe racer: band collar, straight zip, close fit, no hardware getting in the way. There's also a shirt-collar Harrington, two men's leather trucker jackets including the denim-look washed one, a distressed men's leather biker jacket, and a men's leather bomber jacket with a removable hood. All 100% real lambskin, lined in soft polyester, no faux or PU anywhere in the range.

Fit and care

Sizing works the same as any of our jackets: measure your chest and match the size guide rather than going by the label you usually buy. The cafe racer cuts here run close, so if you plan to layer a jumper underneath, email us and we will confirm the right size before you order. Returns are free for 30 days.

One thing specific to the lighter blues: keep them out of prolonged direct sun, which will lift the colour faster than wear does. Otherwise the routine is the same as every other jacket, and the care guide covers it. The full men's leather jacket range is here, or browse men's brown leather jackets if you're still deciding.
