Last Saturday I wore this to a pumpkin farm upstate with my sister's kids. The morning started cold and misty, so the hood went up and stayed there through the hayride. By noon the sun was out, I unclipped the hood and stuffed it into my tote, and it looked like a regular bomber again. The kids smeared apple cider on the cuff; a damp cloth and it was gone. I picked it from the men's range on purpose because I like a roomier, boxier shape for layering a chunky knit. Three chest pockets held my phone, car key and a stash of tissues.
Small gripe up front: the shade is a touch lighter than what I saw in the TikTok clip that sold me on it. Beyond that, no complaints. The nap is soft, the weight is right for fall in Ohio, and the shoulder epaulettes keep it from looking like a basic sweatshirt jacket. I wear it hood-on for morning runs to the coffee shop and hood-off for dinner.
Two months on, a quick update for anyone deciding. It's been my everyday layer through a damp September and into October, worn over knitwear on colder mornings and a plain tee when afternoons warm up. The colour has stayed even, no shiny patches on the elbows or cuffs, and the nap brushes back up whenever a bag strap flattens it. The detachable hood gets used maybe half the time; unclipped, the neckline looks tidier under a scarf. Epaulettes have kept their shape. If I could change one thing I'd add an inner pocket, since all three are on the chest and my wallet feels a bit exposed there. Otherwise it's been an easy, low-fuss piece, and I'd happily pick up a second in another colour.
tip for anyone on the fence: dont baby this thing. i was scared to wear it in the rain at first, now i just shake it off and brush it once its dry and it looks brand new. also if your unsure about the hood, its removable so no risk there. color is a really nice espresso brown, goes great with olive and grey. been my go-to for 6 weeks
Going feature by feature, since that's how I judge a coat. Hood: unclips, decent depth. Shoulders: little epaulettes, which my mate reckons are pointless but I like them. Pockets: three on the chest, though I'd swap one for an inside pocket. Zip: YKK, glides now after a stiff start. Took it to the Lakes, rained sideways, the B&B's dog took a shine to me and left hairs all over it, they lint-rolled off.
Husband travels for work most weeks, and this has become his travel layer. On the train he wears it with the hood on and sleeps against the window. Boarding pass goes in one chest pocket, passport in another, and the third holds his reading glasses. When he lands somewhere warmer it rolls up into the side of his holdall and comes out with barely a crease. At home it's the dog-walking coat, hood off unless it's spitting. The only upkeep has been a quick once-over with a clothes brush on Sunday evenings, which lifts the nap and gets rid of any fluff. He's had comments at a client dinner and from our neighbour, and he looks really sharp in that deep brown.
I bought this for my dad's birthday because he has worn the same tired anorak for about a decade and I thought he deserved something with a bit more style, and to his credit he put it on straight away over his jumper and went out to the garden centre in it, then the following week to my nephew's football, then to Sunday lunch at ours where my mum kept stroking the sleeve because the microsuede has such a nice velvety feel, and he's particularly pleased the hood can be taken off as he says hoods make him look like a teenager, the colour is a gorgeous dark brown though slightly deeper than the photos which is the only reason I'm not giving full marks, and he's now asked whether it comes in navy so that tells you everything
Question I had after seeing it in a Facebook ad: would the brown look cheap and plasticky in real life, the way so many imitation suede pieces do? Short answer, no. The texture is fine and matte, and under streetlights on the walk home it looks almost black, then warms to a coffee tone in daylight. Second doubt was whether a hooded bomber could look grown-up. With the epaulettes and the clean YKK zip it does, and with the hood off it passes for smart-casual at work. Three weeks of regular use and two people have asked about it.
boyfriend cycles to work so i got him this. his log so far: phone in the left chest pocket, keys right, gloves stuffed in the middle one. hood stays on for the ride then comes off at the office. its been through grey drizzle, a windy saturday on the coast and one train journey squashed in his bag, still looks fine. he says its the comfiest thing he owns
Kept seeing this thing in my Instagram feed for weeks and finally caved after a bad Monday, and I'm glad I did because it showed up looking way better than the ad, deep brown, soft nap, hood that comes off, although the box was kind of crushed which I blame on the courier who also left it behind my recycling bin in the rain, anyway the bag inside kept it dry and I've worn it pretty much daily since
Previously I wore a thick nylon bomber that rustled every time I moved and weighed a ton in a rucksack. This is the opposite. The faux suede is quiet, soft and folds down to nearly nothing for a weekend away. It also looks a good deal smarter. I've knocked a point off because the zip was stiff for the first fortnight, though it's loosened up now.
Delivery took longer than I'd hoped, about a week and a half, and that's the only reason this isn't a full five. Everything after the box opened has been great. First time owning anything in this style, and I didn't expect microsuede to feel so soft or look so rich. The detachable hood is clever, the pockets are well placed, and it weighs next to nothing. Honestly a top-tier piece.
needed something for the commute that wasnt my old waterproof shell, which made me look like i was off hiking every morning. wanted brown, wanted a hood, didnt want anything heavy. found this one late on a sunday, ordered, and it turned up the following week in a neat little bag, folded so small i thought theyd sent the wrong thing. shook it out and the nap was a bit flat from the packing but a brush sorted that in seconds. details are good, YKK zip that pulls up one handed which matters when your holding a coffee, three chest pockets so my oyster card has a home, hood clips off for the office. its the dark brown that sells it tho. looks smart with navy trousers. very happy, well chuffed
Present for my son, who is at uni and walks everywhere. Starting at the top, the hood unclips completely, which he likes for lectures. The epaulettes add a bit of shape across the shoulders. Down the front, three chest pockets take his phone, bus pass and lip balm, and the zip is YKK, so I'm not worried about it jamming. He's worn it most days since half term.
solid jacket, 4 out of 5. reasons: its light, it packs down tiny in my truck door pocket, and the brown goes with basically every pair of jeans i own. the epaulettes are a nice touch, kinda workwear-ish. only knock is lint, my dogs fur shows up on it LIKE CRAZY so i keep a roller in the glovebox. wear it to the job site office, the bar, my kids games.
Opened the parcel at my desk half expecting something flimsy, given how compact it was. Shook it out and the colour is a proper chocolate brown with a soft, almost velvety nap. First outing was Saturday drizzle around Borough Market; a light shower beaded off well enough and it dried without marks. Smart enough for a pub lunch, relaxed enough for errands. Sorted.
honestly wasnt sure hubby would go for a hood that isnt on a sweatshirt, hes a hoodie guy thru and thru. well it detaches, so he can pick, and most days he keeps it ON lol. shade came out darker than pictures tho, hence 4. he loves those little shoulder tabs, says he feels like a pilot. wears it everywhere now, even to mow the lawn
Tuesday it arrived. Wore it Wednesday. Haven't really taken it off since. Color is a deep coffee brown, richer in person. Light on the shoulders. Hood detaches in seconds. Three pockets up front. Phone, wallet, badge. Done. YKK hardware, which matters to me. Epaulettes give a slight military look without overdoing it. Brushes clean. Slides into a carry-on with room left over. Exactly what I needed for the office-to-gym run. No notes.
If you're torn between the colors, go dark brown. I'd never owned anything in this style and worried a suede look would feel too dressy, but this shade reads casual and works with grey jeans, black chinos, even a hoodie underneath. Another tip: keep a soft brush by the door. A couple of passes and the nap stands back up. Two months of weekend wear and it still looks new.
Took this on a red-eye to Denver last month. It rolled up small enough to stuff into my backpack at security, then came out barely creased at the gate. Over the airport fleece I'd normally wear, it looked a lot more put-together. My other Decrum piece is a structured biker, so this is the relaxed sibling. Losing a point only because the zip pull felt stiff for the first few days.
Travel was my reason for buying and it has been great for that. Packs down without creasing badly and weighs next to nothing in a bag. The ribbed hem stops it riding up when I'm sat on a plane. Fabric has a nice dry feel rather than that plastic slickness you get on cheap ones.
The detachable hood is what sold me and it actually works properly, the fastening is secure and there's no gap when it's off. Three chest pockets sound like a lot but I've ended up using all of them. Light on the shoulders even with everything loaded up. Brown gives it a bit more character than the usual black.
Been wearing this most mornings for the school run and it's ideal for that in between weather. Nothing has pilled or marked, and the knit cuffs still grip properly. The brown reads richer in daylight than it does on screen. Solid buy for the money.
Five weeks in and this bomber has become the thing I grab by default. I've worn it to the hardware store, on two weekend drives up to my brother's place, and most evenings walking the dog. What has held up: the dark brown hasn't faded at all, even after a few afternoons in direct sun, and the nap still looks even. The YKK zip runs as smooth now as it did on day one. Keys go in one chest pocket, earbuds in another, a folded receipt or two in the third, which turns out to be a handy little system. The one thing I'd tweak is the hood drawstrings, a touch short when you cinch them against wind. Minor. Most mornings the hood stays attached; on warmer days I unclip it and the collar sits cleaner.
Saw this on an ad, ignored it, then came back a week later and ordered it. Glad I did. It works as a casual jacket with the hood on and looks smarter with it off, so it covers two jobs. The zip is a chunky one and runs clean every time.
Ordered this for my dad, who is genuinely impossible to buy for. He put it on and didn't take it off for the rest of the day, which is high praise from him. He likes that the hood comes off for smarter occasions. Arrived earlier than expected too.
Good jacket and I'm pleased with it overall. Four stars because the shoulder epaulettes are a bit more military than I realised from the photos, though they've grown on me. Everything else, the zip, the knit trims, the pockets, is well put together. Very light for how much cover it gives.
