Third Decrum jacket in my wardrobe after a bomber and a biker, and easily the most practical day to day, so here's how I actually use it. Phone goes in the dedicated inside pocket, deep enough that it doesn't bang against my ribs. Wallet in the other inside one. Train ticket and a pen in the chest welt. The two hip flaps take keys and a packet of mints. Over a merino polo in October, over a crisp shirt for meetings. When it's tipping down, which in Manchester is most Tuesdays, I add a mac on top. Packed it flat for a work trip to Dublin and it came out with zero creases, a nice change from my wool blazer that always needs a steam. Speaking of Dublin, I finally found that tiny pub with the snug everyone talks about, lovely afternoon. Care-wise it's a brush, nothing else.
Tip if you're buying this for a partner who's not into formalwear: it's the easiest way to get him looking dressed up without a fight. My husband hates suits, but he'll wear this over a white tee and dark jeans, and suddenly we're ready for date night.
