Great light layer for cooler spring and autumn days. Comfortable fabric and it looks more expensive than it is.
Since going vegan I have found outerwear the hardest thing to replace, and most of what I have tried looked wrong within a month. This has been different. The nap has stayed even, the colour has not faded on the shoulders, and it still drapes properly rather than going stiff. It suits someone avoiding animal materials without making that the whole personality of the jacket. I put aside a good deal more than I spent and I would order it again tomorrow.
Two months of seeing this in my feed and I still could not press buy, because I have been burned before by things that look good in a video and arrive looking like a costume. Eventually a friend ordered one and I saw it in person, which settled it. The nap is fine and soft and consistent, not patchy, and the matte finish is what sells it. It is warm without any bulk, so I can wear a jumper under it and not feel like a parcel. There is no breaking-in, no conditioning, no special treatment, which is a relief. I have had it out most days since it arrived, to work and to the market and once to a wedding reception in the evening. My brother in law asked whether it was the designer one he had been looking at, and that one is more than double. It has replaced a jacket I never really liked but kept wearing out of habit. I am glad I stopped hesitating, and I would order from here again.
Honestly it is a decent jacket rather than a remarkable one. The colour is good and the nap feels soft under the hand, and the snaps are solid enough. Where it falls a bit short for me is the collar, which does not sit quite as crisply as I hoped and needs a bit of arranging each time I put it on. It also picks up lint from a dark jumper more than I would like, so I keep a brush by the door. On the other hand I paid well under what the high street was asking and I did not expect miracles at that level. I have worn it plenty since it arrived, mostly to the shops and to work, and it has held up fine. Nobody has said anything either way, which is probably the fairest summary. If I were buying again I might go for a different style from the same range rather than repeat this one. Not a complaint, just an honest three out of five from someone who wanted to like it more.
Never thought I would be writing a review about a jacket, but this one earned it. The texture is soft, it is barely noticeable on the shoulders and it has not needed any special care in two months of daily use. It cost me about half of what I had set aside.
The school run, the supermarket, the odd evening out, this has covered all of it for two months now. It is light enough not to feel like an event to put on and warm enough for a grey morning. The snap front means I am not fighting a zip with a child under one arm. I brushed the nap once after it lived on a hook for a week and it came straight back. Compared to the high street version I tried on in town, which was stiffer and a good deal dearer, this was an easy call.
My brother had been hinting about wanting something smarter for the pub and the odd family lunch, so I took a gamble and ordered this in the light brown for his birthday. He put it on straight out of the box and has barely taken it off since. The snap front is quick and the texture is softer than anything else he owns. I had set aside close to double for a jacket like this, so it went down as a proper gift on a fairly ordinary budget. His partner has already asked me where it came from. Best money I have spent on him in years.
I stopped buying animal materials about four years ago and had more or less accepted that meant no grown-up jackets. This has changed my mind. The nap is short and even, the colour is a proper deep brown rather than a flat printed-looking one, and it hangs well rather than standing off the body. My sister asked to borrow it within a week. I expected to pay a good deal more for something this considered, and the fact that I did not still surprises me a bit.
He likes it, though not as much as I hoped when I ordered it. The colour and the softness are both good, but it does pick up lint from his jumpers and he grumbles about having to brush it down. For the price I do not think we can complain much, and he is still wearing it most days.
