Faux Suede vs. Genuine Suede

This synthetic microfiber fabric is brushed to mimic the texture of real suede leather, but it carries no animal hide and needs none of the conditioning that natural hides require. That makes it a lighter, lower-maintenance option for everyday wear, though it won't develop the natural grain, break-in, or decades-long lifespan of a genuine hide. Cleaning and Caring for a Faux Suede Jacket

Most pieces in this line can be spot-cleaned with a soft, dry brush or a barely damp cloth — always check the sewn-in care label before soaking or machine-washing, since not every jacket is rated for it.
